MACHA - The Mid-Atlantic Payments Association

2008 The Payments Institute Scholarship Award

MACHA - The Mid-Atlantic Payments Association (MACHA) is pleased to announce that it is now accept¬ing applications for this year’s Scholarship Awards. The scholarship offers a unique opportunity for a deserving individual to attend a one-week school, The Payments Institute, at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Sponsored by NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association, this year’s East Coast session is scheduled for July 27 –July 31, 2008. Our scholarship awards are offered to all members of MACHA to provide an opportunity for an individual to study the latest developments in payments systems -- corporate and retail; paper and electronic. As in prior years, MACHA will offer at least two scholarship awards again this year. Expenses, including room and board, tuition, and round-trip transportation (reservations to be made by MACHA) will be paid by MACHA.

Curriculum

The Payments Institute is an intensive program, conducted in a classroom environment that offers challenging in depth training in all major areas of the payments industry. ACH, cash management, marketing, strategic planning, security, risk management, check processing and on-line payment systems are all covered in one rigorous week. The Payments Institute is not a conference. It is a unique “collegiate” experience that gives you the opportunity to focus on key applications, best practices and case studies in the payments arena.

The Payments Institute includes a curriculum that offers great flexibility and covers a broad spectrum of issues. Core courses are required for background information and to provide a common context for group discussions. In addition, you choose between intro¬ductory courses and advanced courses, whichever you feel best meets your needs. Whether you are a beginning or advanced student, you can develop a program to meet your needs. The instructors at The Payments Institute are drawn from the top echelons of corporations, banks, govern¬ment, consulting firms, and payments networks. These highly respected leaders share their experiences with you and are available to assist you at the Institute.
